The People Now to attend National Association of Music Merchants NAMM, 2014.
#NAMM. Its one of the music industry’s largest conventions of the year; where music related merchants drool over the latest in music gear, and new ideas for the next years lineup of equipment are hatched. One of our biggest passions – to write, record, and make our best music, and this is also true of our live show. When we perform, we meld elements of lights, surround sound, and video projection into a synergy with our music and performance. All of these elements stem from what we do in our lives when we aren’t together as The People Now. We also share a passion for how technology can help us create our best-est and most badass-est show for our fans.
I work for an audio video company, where I am a technician that sets up and programs lights along with designing and running audio reinforcement from corporate events to concerts. Dagna Silesia owns and works in her own custom guitar and repair shop in Shoreline, WA called Silesia Guitars. Jonny Smokes is not only a one man band that uses an intense array of pedals and equipment to control his show, but also is a hired guitar/bass/lighting technician gun with many skills in his arsenal. Garth Hockersmith is a devil of a producer and recording engineer in our very own Huge™ Studios, and has worked with incredible local talent such as Amanda Hardy and Intisaar Jubran.
The thing is, building and creating is what we do – with and without music. This year at NAMM, we will do our best to learn from our peers, share who we are with others of talent, and check out what’s coming down the pipes to keep improving our music, our sound, our show, and ourselves.
